Located in Bellagio on Lake Como (it. Lago di Como) , Villa Melzi is a palace in neo-classical style of the nineteenth century surrounded by a park-like English garden (open to tourism from April to October). Its garden is almost completely visible from the lake due to a steep terrain. It offers magnificent specimens of trees and shrubs such as giant maples, Japanese cedar , azaleas and rhododendrons. An avenue of plane trees neatly trimmed provides shade and coolness for a walk along the lake. A small lily pond not visible from the lake, forms a true secret garden. Melzi garden is certainly one of the most refined garden of Lake Como.
Tip: Bellagio is a beautiful village and a perfect base to stay and visiting other villas and gardens using the public ferry.
